At 5’9” and fluctuating between 150 and 155 lbs I considered myself a healthy, athletic, in-shape woman. I lived a fairly active lifestyle, running an occasional 5k and hitting the gym a couple of times per week. I loved to eat and drink and knew if I worked out I could keep from gaining a significant amount of weight.

After moving in with my boyfriend a year ago I fell into a comfort zone of coming home from work and making a big dinner each night. I was introduced to the world of desserts as it was customary for my boyfriend to have something sweet after dinner each night. I had also become a lazy exerciser and was eating as much as my boyfriend…and he’s 6’5” tall! Noticing changes in my body composition I convinced myself I was just “big boned” and should learn to love my proportions. I still had muscle tone but there was a layer of “fluff” covering it.  Having turned 34 last year I thought maybe this was what I was supposed to look like. It wasn’t until I saw a picture of myself tailgating at a sporting event that I realized just how much I had let myself go. I looked 10 years older and uncomfortable in my own skin. I was the heaviest I had ever been and at the moment knew I needed to make a change.

dotFIT’s “Weigh the Weight Away” program helped me recognize the appropriate portion size for me. I learned how to cook satisfying low calorie, healthy meals. By checking in with my coach each day and keeping a daily food diary I was held accountable for the food and drink I consumed. As I incorporated healthier foods into my diet, my cravings for high-calorie and high-fat foods subsided.

Through a regimen of higher intensity workouts, calorie counting and portion control along with the DotFit provided supplements I lost 15 lbs in 10 weeks and went from a size 8 to a size 4. I am currently maintaining my goal weight of 135 lbs.  The increased activity and weight loss even helped me take over 5 minutes off my 5k race time!

Thanks to my coach and mentor, Mike Oviedo, I am happy, healthy and in love with my new body!!
